For owners

Creating an organisation, batches and join codes, teachers, and the things only an owner can do.

You run the organisation. You make its batches, share their join codes, choose its teachers, and can see every batch.

How it goes

  1. Create the organisation

In Organisations, give it a name and say what kind of place it is. You become its owner. Both can be changed later in Settings.

  2. Create a batch

In Batches, add a batch such as Morning. This is a second step: a new organisation starts with none.

  3. Share the join code

Each batch has a code, a link and a QR. Show any of them to your students.

  4. Students join

They sign in, read what is shared, and press Join. They then appear in the batch.

  5. See who joined, give roll numbers, see progress

Students lists everybody once, by name and email, with the batches they are in. Each has a roll number from the day they joined, which does not change, and you see the seven things about them. A batch's own students open from the batch too.

  6. Invite teachers, if you want

In Teachers, make an invitation link and send it yourself. When they accept, tick the batches they teach.

  7. Archive a batch when it ends

Archiving stops new joins and ends what staff see through it. It deletes nothing and cannot be reversed.

What you can and cannot do

You can

  • Create, rename and archive batches
  • Replace or stop a batch's join code
  • Invite and remove teachers, and choose their batches
  • See every student in one list, with their name, email and roll number
  • See your teachers' names and emails
  • See every active batch's students and their seven things
  • Remove a student from the organisation
  • Change the organisation's name and kind
  • Hand the organisation to one of its teachers, or delete it

You cannot

  • See anything a student types, or their games, badges or streaks
  • See progress through an archived batch
  • Remove a student from one batch only: removal is from the whole organisation
  • Restore an archived batch
  • Delete your account while you own an organisation: hand it over or delete it first

What do I do next?

Questions

How many organisations can I have?
An account can be in at most five, counting every one where you are an owner, a teacher or a student.
Can an organisation have two owners?
No. It has exactly one. You can hand it over to a teacher of the organisation, and you then become a teacher.
What does removing a student do?
They leave every batch of your organisation at once and staff stop seeing them. Their own progress is untouched and nobody is told. They can join again with a code.
What happens when I delete the organisation?
Its batches, codes, teachers and student memberships are removed. Nobody's own typing progress is deleted. It cannot be undone.
Is anybody notified of anything?
No. Typekaro sends no email or message. Share codes and invitation links yourself.

May we count which parts of Typekaro get used? Never what you type, and never who you are. Typekaro works exactly the same either way. What this means
