Course curriculum

What each of the 10 lessons teaches, the keys it covers, and the accuracy to pass.

Home position

Lessons 1 and 2

  1. 01Meet the keyboard

An introduction to the keyboard and the eight fingers that type on it. Press any key and see which finger it belongs to, with no clock and nothing to get wrong.

    Keys: A, S, D, F, J, K, L, ;.
    Explore, no score
  2. 02Home row

Learn the home row: A, S, D and F for the left hand, J, K, L and semicolon for the right. These are the keys your fingers rest on and return to after every reach.

    Keys: A, S, D, F, J, K, L, ;.
    Pass at 85%

One hand at a time

Lessons 3 and 4

  1. 03Left hand

    Keys: A, S, D, F, G, E, R, T, C, V.
    Pass at 85%
  2. 04Right hand

Practise the right hand on its own, mirroring the left-hand lesson so both hands learn their own territory.

    Keys: J, K, L, ;, H, U, I, O, N, M.
    Pass at 85%

The rows above and below

Lessons 5 and 6

  1. 05Top row

    Pass at 85%
  2. 06Bottom row

    Keys: Z, X, C, V, B, N, M.
    Pass at 85%

The whole alphabet

Lesson 7

  1. 07The whole alphabet

    Pass at 85%
  2. 09Capitals and Shift
