Rocket Typing

Type correctly to power your rocket through space. Every right key is a boost, every checkpoint is a bonus, and the keyboard and hands below show you which finger to use. The stars come from accuracy, not speed.

The 12 stages

The lessons teach what to learn next; this game is for practising what you already know. Each stage is one flight to a destination, with three checkpoints on the way. One star opens the next stage.

Letter stages

One letter at a time, adding keys rather than speed as the rocket climbs.

  1. 01Launch PadF, J, D and K to get off the ground. Destination: Above the Clouds.
  2. 02First FlightThe whole home row, up to the Moon. Destination: The Moon.
  3. 03Star FieldHome and top rows, out among the stars. Destination: Star Field.
  4. 04Red PlanetEvery letter, all the way to Mars. Destination: Mars.
  5. 05Ringed PlanetLetters and numbers, on to Saturn. Destination: Saturn.

Word stages

Whole words now, growing from three letters to eight, so the finger placement carries into real typing.

  1. 06Short WordsThree-letter words, one character at a time. Destination: The Moon.
  2. 07Word OrbitThree and four letters. Read the word, then type it. Destination: Star Field.
  3. 08Long HaulFive and six letters, out to Mars. Destination: Mars.
  4. 09Deep WordsSix letters and up, all the way to Saturn. Destination: Saturn.

Missions

Letters and words together, and two flights built from the keys you personally miss most across lessons, practice and tests.

  1. 10Mixed MissionLetters and words together, into deep space. Destination: Deep Space.
  2. 11Weak-key RunThe keys you miss most, from your own practice. Destination: Star Field.
  3. 12Weak-key WordsWords built around the keys you miss most. Destination: Deep Space.

Challenge mode

After the stages, fly for as long as you like: letters, words or both, five difficulties that adjust a step at a time as you play, the option to focus on your weak keys, and a session of one, two or five minutes or endless until you stop. Every flight lands in your play history on the Progress page.
